Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for a few minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and optional garlic powder and dried parsley.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and sour cream until well combined.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms. Be careful not to overmix; just mix until the ingredients are combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a couple of times until it comes together. Roll or pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick.
- Use a round biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out scones from the dough.
- Place the scones in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between each one.
- Air fry at 350°F (180°C) for about 10-12 minutes or until the scones are golden brown and cooked through. The exact time may vary depending on your air fryer, so keep an eye on them.
- Once done, remove the scones from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
