Air Fryer Meringue

Air Fryer Meringue

Ingredients

  • 2 large  egg whites (room temperature)
  • ½ cup  granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar (optional, for stability)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer
    • Set your air fryer to 200°F (95°C) or the lowest setting available.
  2. Whip the Egg Whites
      • In a clean, dry mixing bowl, beat the egg whites on medium speed using a hand or stand mixer until foamy.

    • Add cream of tartar and salt.
    • Increase speed to high and gradually add sugar, one spoonful at a time.
    • Continue beating until stiff, glossy peaks form (this takes about 5-7 minutes).
    • Mix in vanilla extract.
  3. Pipe or Spoon the Meringue
    • Transfer the mixture into a piping bag (or use a spoon) and create small mounds or swirls on a parchment-lined air fryer basket.
    • Leave space between each meringue for air circulation.
  4. Air Fry the Meringues
      • Air fry at 200°F (95°C) for 60-90 minutes or until the meringues are dry and crisp.

    • Check for doneness: They should easily lift off the parchment and feel light.
  5. Cool & Serve
    • Let them cool completely before serving.
    • Store in an airtight container to keep them crisp.
