EQUIPMENT
-
1 Air Fryer
INGREDIENTS
- 1 ½ pounds pork belly
- 3 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
INSTRUCTIONS
-
-
Preheat the air fryer to cooking temperature of 400° Fahrenheit/200 Celsius.
-
Combine the oil, brown sugar, garlic powder, pepper, and paprika in a large bowl. Set bowl aside.
-
-
Place the pork belly on a cutting board and pat dry using a paper towel. Using a sharp knife, cut the pork into 1-inch cubes.
-
Place the pieces of pork belly into the seasoned oil mixture and toss the pieces, making sure to evenly cover all of the pork belly pieces.
-
Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray and place the seasoned pork belly cubes in a single layer into the preheated air fryer basket.
-
Air fry pork belly bites for 18-20 minutes. Shake and flip them a couple of times throughout the cooking process.
-
Remove from the air fryer and serve.
NOTES
Optional dipping sauces: These pork bites are delicious with sweet chili sauce, BBQ sauce, ranch dressing, buffalo sauce or spicy Asian sauce.
Optional flavors: You can use a family favorite homemade dry rub, add a little onion powder, minced garlic cloves, and green onion mix. For heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper, chili powder, chipotle powder, or a tablespoon of maple syrup for extra sweetness.
To maintain texture, place crispy pork belly bites on a baking rack once they have been removed from the air fryer.
I make this recipe in my Cosori 5.8 qt. air fryer. Depending on your air fryer, size, and wattage, the cooking time may vary by 1-2 minutes.
