Baked cabbage steaks

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of green cabbage
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or your favorite herbs and spices for additional flavor

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Remove any loose outer leaves from the cabbage and trim the stem end.
  3. Cut the cabbage into 1-inch thick slices, creating “steaks.”
  4. Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Brush both sides of the cabbage steaks with olive oil.
  6. Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and any optional herbs or spices you like.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the cabbage is tender, flipping the steaks halfway through the cooking time.
  8. Once done, remove from the oven and serve immediately.
  9. Optional: Drizzle with a bit more olive oil or a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
