Ingredients:

  • 1 large head of cauliflower (cut into florets)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or your preferred cooking oil)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for a smoky flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional for extra flavor)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Cauliflower: Wash and dry the cauliflower. Cut it into small, bite-sized florets, making sure they’re all roughly the same size to ensure even cooking.
  3. Season the Cauliflower: In a large bowl, toss the cauliflower florets with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Make sure the cauliflower is evenly coated.
  4. Bake: Spread the seasoned cauliflower florets in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the cauliflower is golden brown and tender.
  5. Optional – Add Parmesan: If you’re using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it over the cauliflower during the last 5 minutes of baking for a crispy, cheesy finish.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired, and serve hot.

Tastes and Texture:

  • The edges of the cauliflower get crispy and caramelized, giving a slightly nutty, savory flavor.
  • The inside remains tender, with a subtle sweetness that balances the seasonings.
  • The addition of garlic, onion powder, and smoked paprika adds depth, while the optional Parmesan provides a rich, umami flavor.

This simple baked cauliflower is delicious as a side dish, snack, or even as a topping for salads or grain bowls!
