💡Tips
1. Watch That Butter!
The most important part of this recipe is browning the butter correctly. When you first start melting it, nothing exciting happens – but keep watching!

After about 8-10 minutes, the butter will start to foam and make tiny bubbles. This is when you need to pay extra attention. Stir it gently and watch the color.

You’re looking for a golden brown color, like honey or maple syrup. If you see tiny brown specks at the bottom of the pan, that’s perfect! But be careful – there’s a fine line between perfectly browned and burnt butter.

If it starts to smell slightly nutty, that’s good. If it smells burnt or very dark brown, you’ve gone too far. Start over if this happens – burnt butter will make your treats taste bitter.

2. The Bacon Bits
The bacon bits need to be really crispy for this recipe to work well. Chewy bacon bits will get strange and rubbery when frozen in the butter.

Cook your bacon until it’s extra crispy, then chop it into very small pieces. Make sure they’re completely cool before adding them to the butter. If you add warm bacon bits to hot butter, they can get soggy.

Also, drain them really well on paper towels before chopping – excess bacon fat can prevent your treats from setting properly in the freezer.
