Ingredients
8 ozs Chickpeas
3 stalks of Hearts of Palm
Handful of chopped parsley
Handful of chopped cilantro
Quarter part chopped onion
Quarter part chopped red pepper
2 slices of toasted (hard) of spelt or Ezekiel Bread
1 tablespoon Dulse
1 tablespoon Coco aminos
Pink Himalayan Sea Salt to taste
1 tablespoon oil (grapeseed, olive, avocado)
Technique
Mash chickpeas or add to food processor (pulse half and blend somewhat to a paste the other half)
Using a fork or finger, shred Hearts of Palm
Thin chop herbs & veggies
Add slices of toast to food processor and blend into crumbles
Add all ingredients to large bowl to include dulse, coco aminos, salt, oil and *1 teaspoon of brine *= optional
Massage ingredients together
Take a handful of the mixture and roll into a ball then gently flatten
Add a little oil to the skillet and lightly fry (med heat) about 4-5 minutes on each side.
*to avoid them from breaking – 1/2 of the chickpeas should be paste like!
Yields 6-7 Kakes
