my cinnamon roll recipe

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F/45°C)
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Dough:

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt to the mixture. Mix until the dough comes together.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

For the Filling:

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.

Assembling the Rolls:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle (about 16×21 inches).
  3. Spread the filling mixture evenly over the dough.
  4. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
  5. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  6. Cover the dish with a damp cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  1. In a bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Spread the frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls.

Serve and enjoy your delicious homemade cinnamon rolls!
