Ingredients:
For the Pizza Crust:
- 1 package (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough or store-bought pizza crust
For the Sausage Gravy:
- 1/2 lb breakfast sausage
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Toppings:
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 large eggs
- Chopped green onions or chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven according to the pizza dough or crust instructions.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape. Transfer it to a pizza stone or a baking sheet.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through. Break it into crumbles as it cooks.
- Once the sausage is cooked, sprinkle the flour over it and stir to coat the sausage evenly.
- Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Continue cooking and stirring until the mixture thickens to a gravy consistency.
- Season the sausage gravy with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
- Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the prepared pizza crust.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the gravy.
- Create small wells in the cheese and gravy mixture to crack the eggs into.
- Carefully crack the eggs into the wells.
- Bake in the preheated oven according to the pizza dough or crust instructions, or until the eggs are cooked to your liking and the crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, and garnish with chopped green onions or chives if desired.
