Yield: 2 cups
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
2 cups mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans, etc.)
3 tablespoons maple syrup or sugar-free alternative (like sugar-free maple syrup)
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for a bit of heat)
Instructions:
In a large non-stick skillet over medium heat, add the mixed nuts. Toast them for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup or sugar-free alternative, coconut oil, ground cinnamon, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).
Pour the mixture over the nuts in the skillet. Stir well to ensure all the nuts are evenly coated.
Continue to cook the nuts for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the coating thickens and becomes sticky.
Remove the skillet from heat and quickly transfer the candied nuts to a parchment-lined tray to cool and harden.
Allow the nuts to cool completely before breaking them into clusters.
