Weight Watchers Baked Mozzarella Sticks Recipe

Ingredients
12 sticks part-skim mozzarella string cheese
1/2 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 large eggs

Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Prepare Coating Mixture: In a shallow dish, combine the whole wheat breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
Coat Mozzarella Sticks: In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Take each mozzarella stick, dip it into the beaten eggs, and then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated. Place the coated sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
Freeze: Place the baking sheet with the coated mozzarella sticks in the freezer for about 30 minutes. This helps to firm up the coating.
Preheat Oven Again: Preheat the oven again to 400°F (200°C).
Bake: Remove the mozzarella sticks from the freezer and lightly coat them with cooking spray. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the coating is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
