Ingredients
For the cake:
- 1 box of sugar-free chocolate cake mix (look for one with reduced sugar or lower points)
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce (substitute for oil or butter)
- 3 large eggs (or egg substitute)
- 1 cup water
For the topping:
- 1 (14 oz) can of fat-free sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup fat-free caramel syrup
- 1 cup fat-free whipped topping
- 1/4 cup crushed sugar-free chocolate chips (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, unsweetened applesauce, eggs (or egg substitute), and water. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the cake batter into a 9×13-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Bake according to the cake mix instructions, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is still warm, use the back of a wooden spoon to poke holes evenly across the cake’s surface.
- Mix together the fat-free sweetened condensed milk and fat-free caramel syrup. Pour this mixture over the warm cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
- Allow the cake to cool completely, then refrigerate it for at least 2 hours or until it’s thoroughly chilled.
- Before serving, spread the fat-free whipped topping evenly over the cake. If desired, sprinkle crushed sugar-free chocolate chips on top for extra flavor.
- Slice and serve your modified “Better than Sex Cake” in small portions to keep it within your WW points or SmartPoints allowance.
