I take everything I said about air fryers back! I just made the crispiest tofu I’ve ever managed.

Air fried tofu:
Press, freeze, thaw then cube a block of tofu.
Mix about ⅓ cup of cornstarch with a big dash of smoked paprika, salt and a little dash each of turmeric, black pepper and cumin.
Toss tofu into the coating.
Heat air fryer to 190. Once hot, add big splash or two of oil. Toss in tofu. Shake so it’s covered in the oil. Airfry at 190 for 5 minutes. Shake it up. Go 3 minutes. Shake . 3minutes.

The veggies were cooked in sesame oil, with fresh garlic, lemon juice, red pepper and ginger.
The sauce is…. honestly, I have no idea. I started with some vegan oyster sauce, brown sugar, aminos,sesame oil, lemon, lime leave and tamarind. I had to keep messing with it becauseit kept being meh. Eventually, it was really good. Don’t know what I did to get it there.
