Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- Optional toppings: chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or powdered sugar
Instructions:
- Start by preheating your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 5 minutes. Make sure to use an air fryer-safe pan or dish that fits inside the air fryer basket. You can line the pan with parchment paper for easy removal and cleanup.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or until it’s fully melted. Let it cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the melted butter to the sugar and egg mixture, and stir until smooth.
- In another bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the batter is well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as it can lead to tough brownies.
- Pour the brownie batter into your prepared air fryer-safe pan.
- If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or any other toppings on top of the brownie batter.
- Place the pan with the brownie batter into the preheated air fryer and cook at 320°F (160°C) for 18-20 minutes. Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer, so keep a close eye on the brownies and adjust the time as needed.
- After the cooking time is complete, insert a toothpick into the center of the brownies. If it comes out with a few moist crumbs, the brownies are done. If it comes out with wet batter, cook for a few more minutes.
- Once the brownies are done, remove the pan from the air fryer and allow the brownies to cool in the pan for a while. Then, use the parchment paper (if you used it) to lift the brownies out of the pan and onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, you can cut the brownies into squares, dust them with powdered sugar if desired, and enjoy!
