Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound chicken tenders or boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cooking spray or oil for misting (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes while you prepare the chicken.
  2. In three separate bowls, set up a breading station. In the first bowl, place the flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix these dry ingredients well.
  3. Take a piece of chicken and dip it in the flour, making sure it’s coated evenly. Shake off any excess flour.
  4. Next, dip the chicken into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.
  5. Finally, coat the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to ensure they adhere well. Repeat this process for all the chicken tenders.
  6. Place the breaded chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  7. Lightly spray the chicken tenders with cooking spray or brush them with a small amount of oil. This step is optional but helps to achieve extra crispiness.
  8. Cook the chicken tenders in the preheated air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. The exact cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken tenders and the model of your air fryer. They should be golden brown and cooked through with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  9. Serve the air fryer chicken tenders hot with your favorite dipping sauces such as ketchup, honey mustard, or ranch dressing.
