Ingredients:
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Seasonings (such as salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder)
- Optional: your choice of herbs and spices for extra flavor
Instructions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes. The preheating step is important for even cooking.
- While the air fryer is preheating, pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps the skin become crispy.
- Rub the chicken thighs with a tablespoon of olive oil. This helps the skin crisp up during cooking.
- Season the chicken thighs generously with salt, pepper, and your choice of seasonings. You can also add herbs and spices to enhance the flavor, such as paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, or rosemary.
- Place the seasoned chicken thighs in the preheated air fryer basket, skin side up, making sure they are not touching each other. You may need to cook them in batches if your air fryer is small.
- Cook the chicken thighs in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for about 25-30 minutes. Check the internal temperature of the chicken using a meat thermometer. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Make sure the skin is crispy and golden brown.
- If your chicken thighs aren’t fully cooked yet or you want them even crispier, you can cook them for an additional 5-10 minutes.
- Carefully remove the chicken thighs from the air fryer basket, let them rest for a few minutes, and then serve hot.
