- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper powder

Instructions
Always read the recipe before starting. Watch the video for good understanding. ALWAYS READ THE NOTES for more options and tips.
Preparing the Spinach & Ricotta filling
-
Heat Cooking Oil in a Saute Pan. Add garlic and onion to the pan and saute for 2 minutes on medium heat. Then add spinach, Salt & Black Pepper and Italian Seasoning. Give it a good stir and cook for 3 more minutes. Switch off the heat and then add ricotta cheese. Mix it well till it is incorporated well. Filling is ready and set it aside.
-
Note – This is a great filling for many other recipes too. Or add a bit of vegetable broth and use it as a dip.
Preparing the Croissant rolls filled with spinach and ricotta
-
Open the can of the crescent roll. Spread out the sheet of rolls. The rolls come attached in the can and separated with perforated borders. That makes it easy to separate the rolls without destroying the triangular shape of the rolls.
-
But for this recipe, we will separate these in squares that is 2 triangles together. The perforated line between 2 triangles should be closed by pinching it together and smoothen it out. You will get 4 squares out of 8 crescent triangles.
-
Spread Air fryer parchment paper on the working counter and place one croissant roll square on it. Now take 1/4th of the filling and place it on one half of the square. Then cover it with the other half of the square. Press the edges down tightly. Use a Fork to press the edges. Make 3 small slits on top of the roll. Finish all the 4 squares likewise. Set aside.
Air Frying Croissant Rolls with the Filling
-
My air fryer is 2.75 quart so I could air fry only 2 at a time. You probably can air fry more at a time depending upon the size of the air fryer.
-
Preheat the AIR FRYER at 330*F for 3-4 minutes. Place prepared croissant rolls on Air fryer parchment paper. Pick up the paper carefully and place it inside the air fryer basket. Now air fry these rolls at 330*F for about 6-8 minutes till they turn golden brown from outside.
-
For the crispier base, remove the parchment paper and place these back in the air fryer for about 1 minute. Serve these warm as is or with the dip of your choice.
Is this recipe Oven friendly?
-
In case you do not have air fryer, then you can bake it in the oven easily. Follow the instructions to make the filling as mentioned in the recipe. Shape and Fill. Then bake in the oven on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper as per the instructions at the back of the crescent rolls.
Can I make it in Air fryer Lid?
-
Yes you absolutely can. Use the same instructions for air fryer. Although these might get cooked little faster than the air fryer. Therefore keep an eye at about 5 minutes.
Is this recipe good for Mealthy Crisp Lid?
-
Yes you can make it in Mealthy Crisp Lid too. Use the same instructions for air fryer. Although these might get cooked little faster than the air fryer. Therefore keep an eye at about 5 minutes.
Notes
What else can I use in place of croissant rolls?
You can use ready to bake phyllo sheet or puff pastry sheet in case you can not find crescent rolls.
Can I make it in advance?
I would not advise you to make it in advance. Although you can prepare the spinach and ricotta filling in advance and refrigerate. Microwave it to room temperature or bring it to room temperature when ready to use.
Can I use Fresh Spinach instead?
Yes of course you can use fresh spinach leaves. Since spinach wilts to very less quantity after cooking, you have to double the quantity.
What other kind of cheese can I use?
Although ricotta is a great choice for this recipe, but you can use any cheese that combines easily without stretching. Cottage cheese, Gouda Cheese, Paneer are some other good options.
Can I double the recipe?
Absolutely yes. You can double or triple the recipe easily
