Air Fryer Potato Chips

Air Fryer Potato Chips

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold work well)
  • Olive oil or cooking spray
  • Salt and seasonings (e.g., paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, or your choice)

Instructions:

  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes, leaving the skins on for added flavor and texture. You can peel them if you prefer, but leaving the skin on is more traditional.
  2. Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the potatoes into thin, uniform rounds. Try to make them as thin as possible for crispy chips.
  3. Place the potato slices in a bowl of cold water to remove excess starch. This will help the chips become crispier.
  4. Drain the potato slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to around 360-375°F (180-190°C).
  6. Lightly coat the potato slices with olive oil or use a cooking spray to apply a thin, even layer of oil. This will help the chips crisp up in the air fryer.
  7. Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they’re not overlapping. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  8. Cook the potato slices in the air fryer for about 10-15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and crispy. It’s essential to keep an eye on them as cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer’s size and model.
  9. While the chips are still hot, season them with salt and any other desired seasonings. Be creative with your flavorings to suit your preferences.
  10. Let the chips cool for a few minutes to become even crispier. They will continue to firm up as they cool down.
  11. Serve your air fryer potato chips as a tasty snack or side dish. Enjoy them on their own or with your favorite dipping sauce.
