Air fryer roast beef

Air fryer roast beef

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 pounds of beef roast (such as sirloin, ribeye, or tenderloin)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Seasonings (optional) like garlic powder, rosemary, thyme, or your preferred herbs and spices

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. While the air fryer is preheating, prepare the beef. Rub the roast with a little olive oil to help the seasoning stick and enhance browning. Season the meat generously with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings you like.
  3. Place the seasoned roast in the air fryer basket. Make sure there’s some space around it to allow for proper air circulation.
  4. Cook the roast in the air fryer at 400°F for about 20-25 minutes per pound for medium-rare. You may need to adjust the cooking time depending on your preferred level of doneness and the thickness of the roast. Here’s a rough guide for doneness:
    • Rare: 15-20 minutes per pound
    • Medium-rare: 20-25 minutes per pound
    • Medium: 25-30 minutes per pound
    • Well-done: 30+ minutes per pound
  5. Halfway through the cooking time, flip the roast to ensure even cooking.
  6. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the roast. For medium-rare, you’re aiming for about 130-135°F (55-58°C). Adjust the cooking time as needed.
  7. Once the roast reaches your desired level of doneness, remove it from the air fryer. Allow the roast to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful roast.
  8. Slice the roast into thin pieces and serve. You can also make a simple pan sauce with the drippings, if desired.
