Ingredients:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour or cornstarch
- Cooking spray or a misting bottle with oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger to make the sesame sauce. Set it aside.
- Season the chicken breasts with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Place the flour or cornstarch on a plate. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour or cornstarch, making sure to coat them evenly and shaking off any excess.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or use an oil misting bottle to coat it with a thin layer of oil.
- Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between them to allow for proper air circulation.
- Cook the chicken in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes per side. Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of your chicken breasts. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and is golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- During the last few minutes of cooking, drizzle the sesame sauce over the chicken breasts and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Close the air fryer and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens and the sesame seeds become toasted.
- Carefully remove the chicken from the air fryer, and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with sliced green onions, if desired.
