AirBaked German Apple Cake (Apfelkuchen) has officially became one of my family’s favorite. This cake is very easy to make and never fails. It is delicious warm from the oven and it goes well with a scoop of ice-cream for dessert.
AirBaked German Apple Cake (Apfelkuchen)
1 Egg
85gm Vegetable Oil
3/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
125gm Flour (All-purpose Flour)
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp Ground Nutmeg
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
60gm Brown Sugar (Original Recipe callled for 100gm – if the apple you are using is with a sour hint then you might want to add a little more sugar)
1/4 tsp Salt (I used Pink Salt)
2 cups Apples (peeled and chopped – chunks)
Directions:
- In a large bowl, gently beat egg and oil until smooth then mix well with vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, spices and baking soda. Then add salt and sugar into the flour mixture.
- Using the “cut and fold” method to fold in the flour mixture into the egg mixture. Do it in batches until well combined. (Tips: Don’t be shocked if you noticed that mixture is incredibly thick – it is meant to be like that!).
- Fold in chopped apples. (Tips: Use a wooden spatula to fold in the apples as the mixture will be heavy and thick to be stirred)
- Preheat the Airfryer at 180°C for 5 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into the baking pan and cover the baking pan with foil and pokes holes randomly on it.
- Place the baking tray and switch the temperature to 160°C and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and continue to baking for another 5 minutes until the cake have a perfectly brown top.
- Let the cake to cool before taking it out from the pan to avoid the cake from falling apart.
