Apple crisp! gluten-free or glutenful

•Apple Filling:
10 apples cut into 1/4″/5mm slices (I use honeycrisp, but you can use any baking apple)
3/4 cup granulated sugar (I use Florida Crystals)
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (I’ve tried several GF flours that all work)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
A few tablespoons of water
•Crumble:
1 cup rolled oats (I use Bob’s Red Mill Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar (you can use regular sugar if you don’t have brown sugar)
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
8 tablespoons softened vegan butter (I use Country Crock)
•Directions:
1. Put the sliced apples in a large bowl and add a few tablespoons of water. Enough to slightly wet the slices.
2. Combine sugar, cinnamon, and flour in a separate bowl. Add half of the mixture to the apples and stir to coat the apples.
3. Add apples to the pan and pour the remaining mixture over them.
4. For the crumble, combine dry ingredients and stir thoroughly. Add in softened butter and stir. Distribute crumble on top of apples.
5. Bake at 350°F/175°C for 50-60 minutes
•Some modifications:
*If you like softer apples, you can cut them thinner than 1/4″ and this will give you a mushier texture.
*If you really love crumble, you can double the recipe and put half on the bottom of the pan and half on top of the apples.
