Chocolate chip Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard-sized loaf pan.
  2. Mash Bananas:
    • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients:
    • Add melted butter, vanilla extract, and granulated sugar to the mashed bananas. Mix well.
  4. Add Egg:
    • Beat in the egg until well combined.
  5. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Add Greek Yogurt:
    • Fold in the plain Greek yogurt until the batter is smooth.
  8. Add Chocolate Chips:
    • Gently fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few for the top if desired.
  9. Pour into Pan:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  10. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Cool:
    • Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. Slice and Serve:
    • Once cooled, slice the banana bread and serve.
