Deep fried cauliflower nuggets

Deep fried cauliflower nuggets

INGREDIENTS:
1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
1 cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour for a gluten-free option)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any plant-based milk of your choice)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Oil for deep frying (such as vegetable oil or canola oil)
Optional: your favorite dipping sauce for serving (such as vegan ranch or barbecue sauce)
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, almond milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper until you have a smooth batter. Adjust seasoning according to your taste preferences.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, making sure it’s evenly coated.
Carefully place the battered cauliflower into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry in batches if necessary.
Fry the cauliflower for about 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally for even cooking.
Once cooked, use a slotted spoon or tongs to transfer the fried cauliflower nuggets to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Repeat the frying process with the remaining cauliflower florets.
Serve the vegan deep fried cauliflower nuggets hot with your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
