Home Made Big Mac Salad
Ingredients:
For the Salad:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 cups shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced pickles
- 1 cup diced onions
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
For the Dressing:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons finely minced onion
- 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
For Assembly:
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Sesame seed hamburger buns (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Ground Beef:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the lean ground beef until browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Drain any excess fat. Allow it to cool.
2. Prepare the Dressing:
- In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, minced onion, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, white vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well until the dressing is smooth and well combined. Set aside.
3. Assemble the Salad:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded lettuce, diced pickles, diced onions, cherry tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese.
4. Add the Cooked Ground Beef:
- Add the cooled, cooked ground beef to the salad mixture.
5. Mix in the Dressing:
- Pour the dressing over the salad and toss until all the ingredients are well coated.
6. Garnish and Serve:
- Optionally, garnish the salad with sesame seeds for that classic Big Mac look. You can also serve the salad with sesame seed hamburger buns on the side.
7. Enjoy:
- Serve the Big Mac Salad immediately. You can refrigerate any leftovers, but keep in mind that the lettuce might become soggy over time, so it’s best to consume it fresh.
