Ingredients:
For the Breadsticks:
- 1 pound (450g) pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (60g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup (115g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Garlic Butter:
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle or square, about 1/2 inch thick.
- In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until it becomes fragrant but not browned. Remove from heat.
- Brush the garlic-infused olive oil evenly over the surface of the rolled-out dough.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper over the dough.
- Carefully fold the dough in half, creating a cheese-filled sandwich. Press the edges to seal.
- Cut the dough into 1-inch wide strips to create the breadsticks.
- Place the breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a greased baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the breadsticks are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- While the breadsticks are baking, prepare the garlic butter. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the minced garlic, dried parsley, and salt. Cook for a couple of minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
- As soon as the breadsticks are out of the oven, brush them with the garlic butter mixture while they’re still hot.
- Serve your cheesy garlic breadsticks warm with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or any other dipping sauce of your choice.
Enjoy your homemade cheesy garlic breadsticks as a tasty appetizer or side dish. They’re perfect for game day, parties, or just a satisfying snack!
