keto Homemade Caramel Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup sweetener (such as erythritol or a blend of erythritol and stevia)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Melt Butter: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add Sweetener: Stir in the sweetener until it dissolves. Allow it to cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add Cream: Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Be careful, as the mixture may bubble.
- Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
- Add Vanilla and Salt: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
- Cool: Allow the caramel sauce to cool for a few minutes before transferring it to a glass jar or container.
- Store: Store the low-carb caramel sauce in the refrigerator. It will thicken as it cools.
