Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream or full-fat Greek yogurt
- 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried parsley)
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried chives)
- 1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried dill)
- 1 teaspoon white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1-2 tablespoons water (optional, for desired consistency)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise and sour cream (or Greek yogurt).
- Add the minced garlic, fresh parsley, fresh chives, fresh dill, or their dried counterparts.
- Stir in the white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar. This provides the tangy flavor typical of ranch dressing.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Start with a pinch of each and adjust according to your preference.
- If you find the dressing too thick, you can thin it out by adding 1-2 tablespoons of water until you reach your desired consistency.
- Mix all the ingredients thoroughly, and taste the dressing. Adjust the seasonings as needed.
- Once you’re satisfied with the taste and consistency, transfer the ranch dressing to an airtight container or a jar with a lid.
- Refrigerate the dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
