New York Strip Steak Cowboy Butter

New York Strip Steak Cowboy Butter

Ingredients:

For the steak:

  • 2 New York strip steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

For the cowboy butter:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the New York strip steaks generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  3. Drizzle the vegetable oil over the steaks and rub it in to ensure they are evenly coated.
  4. Place the steaks on the preheated grill or grill pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time according to your preference. Avoid flipping the steaks too often to allow for a nice sear.
  5. While the steaks are cooking, prepare the cowboy butter. In a bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped chives, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix well until all the ingredients are incorporated.
  6. Once the steaks are cooked to your desired doneness, remove them from the grill or grill pan and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. Place a dollop of cowboy butter on top of each steak while they are still hot, allowing the butter to melt and infuse the meat with its flavors.
  8. Serve the New York strip steaks with cowboy butter alongside your favorite soul food sides like mashed potatoes, collard greens, or cornbread.

Enjoy your delicious New York strip steak with soulful cowboy butter!
