Ingredients:
For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
For the Filling:
- 4-5 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the Topping:
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crust:
- In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie dish to form the crust. Place the crust in the refrigerator to set while you prepare the filling.
- Make the Filling:
- In a large bowl, combine thinly sliced apples, applesauce, honey or maple syrup, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the apple slices are evenly coated.
- Assemble the Pie:
- Take the prepared crust out of the refrigerator. Arrange the apple mixture over the crust, spreading it out evenly.
- Chill:
- Place the no-bake apple pie in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2-3 hours, or until the filling is set.
- Serve:
- Once chilled, slice the no-bake apple pie into wedges. Optionally, serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes:
- You can use a mix of apple varieties for a more complex flavor.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey or maple syrup according to your taste.
- Feel free to add a sprinkle of chopped nuts or a drizzle of caramel sauce for extra flavor.
