No bake apple pie

Ingredients:

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

For the Filling:

  • 4-5 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Topping:

  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crust:
    • In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie dish to form the crust. Place the crust in the refrigerator to set while you prepare the filling.
  2. Make the Filling:
    • In a large bowl, combine thinly sliced apples, applesauce, honey or maple syrup, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the apple slices are evenly coated.
  3. Assemble the Pie:
    • Take the prepared crust out of the refrigerator. Arrange the apple mixture over the crust, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Chill:
    • Place the no-bake apple pie in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2-3 hours, or until the filling is set.
  5. Serve:
    • Once chilled, slice the no-bake apple pie into wedges. Optionally, serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes:

  • You can use a mix of apple varieties for a more complex flavor.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey or maple syrup according to your taste.
