Quiche.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (9 inches)
  • 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped collard greens, cooked and drained
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pre-made pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and press it firmly against the bottom and sides.
  3. In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet, let it cool, and crumble it into small pieces.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté the diced onion until it becomes translucent and slightly caramelized.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, and paprika until well combined.
  6. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, cooked collard greens, and sautéed onion onto the pie crust.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the fillings in the pie crust, making sure it is evenly distributed.
  8. Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set. You can test the doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center – if it comes out clean, the quiche is ready.
  9. Once cooked, remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
