Steak Bites and potatoes
Ingredients:
For the steak bites:
- 1 lb of sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme (optional)
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce (optional)
For the potatoes:
- 4-5 medium-sized potatoes, diced into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the diced potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned potatoes onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through the cooking time.
- While the potatoes are baking, prepare the steak bites. Season the bite-sized pieces of steak with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and dried thyme, if using.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the seasoned steak bites to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time according to your preference. Stir in Worcestershire sauce during the last minute of cooking, if desired.
- Once the steak bites are cooked to your liking, remove them from the heat.
- Serve the steak bites alongside the crispy roasted potatoes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
