Ingredients:
For the pizza crust:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp instant yeast
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
3/4 cup warm water
For the pizza sauce:
1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
For the toppings:
1/2 cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 cup vegan mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup mushrooms, thinly sliced
1/4 cup black olives, sliced
Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, salt, olive oil, and warm water until a dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a clean, lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a damp towel and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the pizza sauce by combining the tomato sauce, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Stir well to combine.
Once the dough has rested, transfer it to a pizza stone or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Roll out the dough to your desired thickness.
Spread the marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle vegan mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
Arrange the sliced red bell pepper, red onion, mushrooms, and black olives on top of the cheese.
Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
Slice the pizza into wedges and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious homemade vegan pizza!
Note: You can customize the toppings according to your preference. Feel free to add any other vegetables or vegan meat substitutes that you like.
