1 brownie sandwich

Ingredients:

For the Brownies:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  8. While the brownies are cooling, prepare the filling. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk, and beat until smooth and fluffy.
  9. Once the brownies are completely cool, remove them from the pan and cut them in half horizontally, creating two layers.
  10. Spread the filling evenly over the bottom brownie layer.
  11. Gently place the top brownie layer over the filling, creating a sandwich.
  12. Slice the brownie sandwich into squares or bars.

Enjoy your delicious brownie sandwich! You can customize the filling by adding chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or other favorite ingredients to make it your own.
