Ingredients:
- 2 slices of good-quality bread (like ciabatta or baguette)
- 2 large tomato slices
- 2-4 slices of fresh mozzarella cheese
- 2-3 fresh basil leaves
- 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
- While the air fryer is heating, assemble your Caprese sandwich. Place a tomato slice on one piece of bread, followed by mozzarella slices and fresh basil leaves. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Place the second slice of bread on top to create a sandwich.
- Brush the outside of the sandwich with olive oil. This will help make the bread crispy in the air fryer.
- Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket. You can use a small rack or tray to help prevent the sandwich from sticking to the basket.
- Air fry the Caprese sandwich at 375°F (190°C) for about 4-5 minutes. Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t burn. You want the bread to be golden brown and the cheese to melt.
- When the sandwich is ready, carefully remove it from the air fryer using tongs or a spatula.
- Optionally, drizzle the sandwich with balsamic glaze for extra flavor.
- Serve your air fryer Caprese sandwich immediately while it’s hot and crispy.
