Ingredients:
- Tomatoes (any variety)
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- Optional seasonings: garlic powder, dried herbs (such as basil, oregano, or thyme)
Instructions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Wash and dry the tomatoes. You can use cherry tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, or larger slicing tomatoes depending on your preference.
- Slice the tomatoes: If you’re using cherry tomatoes, you can leave them whole. For larger tomatoes, slice them into 1/2-inch (1.25 cm) thick rounds or wedges.
- Place the tomato slices in a bowl, drizzle with a bit of olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings you like. Toss the tomatoes gently to coat them evenly.
- Place the seasoned tomato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. It’s essential not to overcrowd the basket, as this can affect the cooking process.
- Air fry the tomatoes for 8-10 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the slices and the specific air fryer model, so keep a close eye on them to prevent overcooking.
- When the tomatoes are tender and have a slightly crispy exterior, remove them from the air fryer and serve immediately.
