Ingredients:
For the Chicken Wings:
- 2 pounds of chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (adjust for your preferred level of spiciness)
For the Homemade Buffalo Sauce:
- 1/2 cup of hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Chicken Wings:
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Make sure the wings are evenly coated.
- Cook the Chicken Wings:
- Place the seasoned chicken wings in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to cook them in batches if your air fryer is not large enough to accommodate all the wings at once.
- Cook the wings at 400°F (200°C) for about 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
- Make the Homemade Buffalo Sauce:
- While the wings are cooking, melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat.
- Once the butter is melted, stir in the hot sauce, white vinegar, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Simmer the sauce for a few minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust the seasoning to your preference.
- Coat the Chicken Wings:
- Once the chicken wings are done in the air fryer, remove them and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- Pour the homemade Buffalo sauce over the wings, and toss them to coat evenly. Make sure each wing is well coated with the sauce.
- Serve:
- Transfer the saucy wings to a serving platter, and serve them hot with your choice of dipping sauces and sides, such as celery sticks and ranch or blue cheese dressing.
