At a birthday party, cake is important, but booze is top-priority — which really means Fireball Whisky is the most important of all. So why have plain vanilla cake when you can combine the best of both worlds with a Fireball Poke Cake?
Here’s how to spice things up:
1. Spike the batter. Replace half the water that a cake mix calls for with Fireball and throw in a teaspoon of cinnamon for extra spice
2. Bake and poke. Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean, then poke holes all over top with the back of a wooden spoon.
3. Fill it up. With lots and lots of caramel sauce. Use the good stuff here if you can.
4. Spike the frosting. Add a splash (or three) of booze to your vanilla buttercream too. If there are little ones partying, this step is skippable. Though the alcohol in the cake technically burns off, you can still taste it.
4. Decorate and devour. To the frosting, add a couple drops each of red and yellow food coloring, then use a rubber spatula to swirl the colors. Frost the poke cake, top with gold sprinkles and cheers to the best birthday cake ever.
