- 2 sheets of reduced-fat puff pastry (thawed)
- 1/2 cup grated reduced-fat Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup grated reduced-fat mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried basil (or your preferred dried herb)
- Cooking spray
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, grated mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, and dried basil. Mix well.
3. Roll Out the Puff Pastry:
- Lay out one sheet of thawed reduced-fat puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Roll it out slightly to even it out.
4. Add the Cheese Mixture:
- Sprinkle half of the cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry sheet.
5. Create Layers:
- Carefully place the second puff pastry sheet on top of the first one, sandwiching the cheese mixture in between.
6. Cut into Strips:
- Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut the layered puff pastry sheets into strips, about 1-inch wide.
7. Twist the Strips:
- Take each strip and twist it gently to create a spiral shape.
8. Place on Baking Sheet:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- Place the cheese twists on the baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the cheese twists are golden brown and puffed up.
10. Cool and Serve:
- Allow the cheese twists to cool slightly before serving.
