Air fryer chicken thighs

Air fryer chicken thighs

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: lemon wedges and fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
  2. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
    • In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper to create a spice rub.
  3. Season the Chicken:
    • Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken thighs, making sure to coat them evenly.
  4. Air Fry:
    • Place the seasoned chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, skin side up, leaving some space between them for proper air circulation.
    • Cook the chicken thighs in the preheated air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time. Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model, so it’s a good idea to check for doneness.
  5. Check for Doneness:
    • To ensure the chicken is fully cooked, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. It should reach at least 165°F (74°C).
  6. Serve:
    • Once the chicken thighs are cooked through and crispy on the outside, remove them from the air fryer.
    • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.
    • Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs and serve with lemon wedges for added flavor.
