Chocolate chip Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and pinch of salt.
  5. Add the granulated sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and stir well.
  6. Gradually add the flour to the banana mixture, stirring until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.
  9. Optional: You can sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top of the batter for a nice presentation.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
